Job summary

Maple Leaf Foods Inc. in Seattle is hiring a Package Tech to support food production by operating packaging equipment, inspecting products, palletizing, and maintaining clean, safe work areas during the shift.

The role requires operating packaging machinery, labeling and packaging products, palletizing, and complying with food safety and PPE. Training allows pallet jack operation; the shift runs 6:45AM-3:15AM with potential for extra hours.

Qualifications

• Experience in a food production, packaging, warehouse, or manufacturing environment is a strong plus.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality with ability to adapt to changing schedules and overtime.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate clearly with peers and frontline leadership.
• Basic problem-solving skills to notice minor operational inconsistencies and report them promptly.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate and tend to various food packaging machinery, keeping pace with the production line for continuous workflow.
• Inspect, label, and package finished food products into cartons and boxes per SOPs.
• Palletize finished products, ensuring boxes are stacked securely and ready for storage or transport.
• Keep work areas, conveyors, and equipment clean and sterilized; report machine malfunctions immediately.
• Adhere to all food safety and PPE requirements, including nets, smocks, boots, gloves, and eye protection as required.
• Operate manual and electric pallet jacks to move products to designated areas after formal training.
