Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is hiring an Automation and Controls Supervisor for the Salina, KS pizza plant. You will guide automation initiatives and direct activities aligned with the plant strategy, planning and scheduling work for the controls and electrical team to install, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and tune control devices that automate our manufacturing processes.

This role leads Asset Optimization efforts in Planning/Scheduling, Defect Elimination, and Breakdown Elimination.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of automation and/or controls experience.
• 2+ years in a Lead or Supervisor role.
• PLC/HMI experience with Rockwell, Modicon, Siemens, GE or Fanuc.
• Engineering programming for industrial control systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and project experience.
• Understanding of ladder logic and HMI programming.

Responsibilities

• Guide Electrical and Controls technicians within the Salina plant.
• Document, implement, start up and provide technical support for PLC and HMI programming.
• Plan and schedule work for the controls and electrical team to install, troubleshoot, repair, calibrate, and tune control devices.
• Lead development and training of plant operations and maintenance on control system features.
• Manage skills utilization, downtime, equipment effectiveness, safety, and costs to meet budget targets.
