Job summary

CJ Schwan’s is seeking an Automation and Controls Supervisor for our North East, PA pizza plant. You will guide the controls and electrical team, oversee PLC/HMI programming, and ensure efficient automation across manufacturing processes.

You will lead training, manage resources and safety, and coordinate with plant strategy to improve Asset Optimization aspects like Planning and Scheduling and Defect Elimination.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in automation/controls, with 2+ years in lead/supervisor role.
• Experience with instrumentation and controls design.
• PLC/HMI programming knowledge with Rockwell, Siemens, GE, or similar.

Responsibilities

• Guide Electrical and Controls technicians at the Salina plant.
• Oversee PLC/HMI programming, startup, and technical support in an industrial setting.
• Plan and schedule work for controls and electrical teams to install and tune control devices.
• Lead development and training of plant ops and maintenance personnel on control system functionality.
• Manage staff utilization, downtime, cost control, safety policy adherence, and budget monitoring.
