Job summary

Siemens Energy, Inc. in Tampa seeks an Automation Engineer to act as SME for plant control systems, designing, maintaining, and enhancing manufacturing automation to ensure safe, efficient production.

The role drives uptime through reliability, cybersecurity, and continuous improvement aligned with business aims. The engineer leads site-wide controls standards, supports capital projects, and partners with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, EHS, and IT to sustain operational

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Automation, Mechatronics or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in industrial automation in manufacturing.
Strong PLC programming, troubleshooting and commissioning experience.
Experience with HMIs/SCADA and industrial networks.
Knowledge of automation cybersecurity concepts and OT network principles.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary technical authority for all automation and control systems at the Tampa facility.
Develop and maintain site-wide controls strategy, standards, and lifecycle plans.
Develop PLC programs and HMI interfaces; implement improvements to exceed productivity and quality targets.
Lead maintenance of cybersecurity controls and OT network security alignment with IT.
Support capital projects from specifications to commissioning and start-up, driving OEE improvements.
