Job summary

Flowers Foods, Inc. in Lafayette, LA is seeking a finance/accounting professional to assist with daily and periodic financial activities. You will support journal entries, monthly closings, and reporting, collaborating with plant finance, regional controllers, and corporate finance to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of accounting experience, including internships.
• Working knowledge of GAAP requirements.
• SAP ERP and BlackLine experience and SEC reporting a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assists with weekly income statement estimates and preparation.
• Prepares and enters journal vouchers.
• Maintains weekly reporting (corporate and local).
• Assists with the period, quarter, and year-end accounting closing process.
• Analyzes general ledger accounts and prepares associated quarterly and annual schedules.
• Supports and cross-trains to fulfill duties related to Routes & Distributor Accounting and Accounts Payable.
• Assists in monitoring and collection efforts for Customer Trade Receivables.
• Participates in annual financial planning including capital budgets.
• Assists with product costing on a periodic basis.
• Assists with personal property tax and business license filings.
• Ensures SOX compliance and internal audit requirements; collaborates with cross-departments.
