Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Plant Accountant to support reporting, BOM maintenance, and month-end close at our Ohio facilities. You will analyze labor and material costs, prepare yield and packaging reports, and supervise coordinators as needed.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field and 2+ years of accounting experience, with proficiency in Excel and SAP. Some travel to other plant locations may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field with 2+ years of professional accounting experience or training; or equivalent combination
• Experience leading/mentoring staff or managing processes/projects is preferred
• Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Proven ability to use Excel daily for large data manipulation and simple formulas

Responsibilities

• Daily Reporting – compile data from SAP, ADC and other sources to prepare reports (Yield, Labor, OPS, etc.) and perform month-end close activities and variance analysis
• Assist in BOM creation and packaging of reports; ensure accuracy of finished goods inventory, payroll and related areas; travel to production floor up to 20% of the time
