Job summary

PCA is seeking a Plant Accountant in the United States to organize and coordinate general accounting activities for the plant. The role involves maintaining a complete and accurate general ledger, preparing basic financial reports, and analyzing variances.

Responsibilities include close processes, accruals, payroll compliance, and supporting forecasts and financial reporting. The candidate will mentor accounting staff and ensure adherence to GAAP and PCA SOX controls.

Qualifications

• Education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Three years of experience in accounting or a related business office role.
• Strong Excel skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Experience with invoicing, credit/collections, expense reporting, payroll, and GL systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
• Maintain complete and accurate general ledger; prepare financial reports.
• Analyze variances and report discrepancies with clear explanations.
• Prepare estimates and accruals; manage close and reporting calendars.
• Assist with forecasts, reports comparing forecasts to actual costs.
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with policies and laws.
• Support plant controller and mentor accounting staff as needed.
• Ensure compliance with PCA’s SOX 404 Key Controls.
