Shaw Industries Ltd. is seeking a Plant 3M | Utility - Shift 1 worker to maintain cleanliness and safety in a busy warehouse in Hanover, MD. The role operates a non-rotating 8-hour shift from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with a pay rate of $20.86 per hour.

• Check and empty trash cans throughout the warehouse as needed.
• Keep railings, Lead Station areas, sample area, and pallets clean and organized.
• Keep recycling centers clean and ensure proper disposal of waste.
• Report unsafe storage areas and safety concerns to a supervisor.
• Assist with loading/unloading pallets and standby for battery changer duties.

Responsibilities

• Empty all trash cans daily and dispose of trash in the appropriate dumpster.
• Sweep the entire dock daily, removing debris, trash, wood, cardboard, and other materials.
• Walk aisles and bulk storage areas to remove trash, empty pallets, damaged material, and other debris.
• Check trash cans throughout the warehouse and empty as needed.
• Keep railings and Lead Station areas clean and free of trash and clutter.
• Keep the sample area clean and organized.
• Keep straps organized and stored in designated containers.
• Check and remove trash and recycling from around dock doors.
• Check recycling centers in the break room and empty as needed.
• Check bathrooms and the break room daily for cleanliness and ensure necessary supplies are stocked.
• Immediately clean oil spills, leaks, or other hazards to prevent slips and falls.
• Place sharp objects, including blades and nails, in the appropriate safety containers.
• Remove broken wood, broken pallets, and unwanted plywood from the warehouse and yard and place in the appropriate recycling bin or dumpster.
• Report unsafe storage areas and other safety concerns to a Supervisor immediately.
• Communicate incomplete tasks or concerns to the following shift.
• Clean the trailer yard weekly, removing debris, trash, wood, and other materials.
• Empty the trash can located in the parking lot.
• Keep sidewalks and employee entrances clear of snow, ice, trash, and debris.
• Transport full dumpsters to the outside staging area for pickup/emptying by the trash vendor.
• Assist with loading and unloading pallets and scrap pallets for the pallet vendor.
• Serve as backup to the battery changer and follow required Lockout/Tagout procedures.
• Assist with unloading inbound carpet and hard surface product.
• Complete daily pre-pull work for 2nd shift.
• Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned by the Supervisor based on operational needs.

This position is located and works out of Hanover, MD.

$20.86 Per Hour

Mon-Fri: 7:30 am to 4:00 pm

Work Shift

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
