Job summary

Shaw Industries is seeking a Housekeeper Distribution I on the 2nd shift to maintain the appearance and housekeeping of industrial warehouses. You will operate sweepers, scrubbers, and other powered industrial trucks, perform daily cleaning of drive aisles and walkways, and collect debris and recyclables.

The role requires safety awareness, the ability to work overtime, and a reliable work schedule in a large distribution environment.

Qualifications

• Operate sweepers, scrubbers and other powered industrial trucks (PITs) safely and effectively.
• Follow safety rules and PPE requirements while performing cleaning tasks.
• Flexibility to work overtime and adhere to attendance policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate sweepers, scrubbers and other PITs safely and effectively.
• Perform daily cleaning of warehouse drive aisles and pedestrian walkways.
• Collect debris and recyclables throughout the facility.
• Operate scrubber when needed.
• Clean outside areas monthly or as needed.
• Comply with supervisor directions and company policies.
• Overtime may be required.

Job description

Position Objective: Responsible for the general appearance/housekeeping of industrial warehouse(s), and the proper disposal of waste/recyclables.

Position Overview

Responsible for the general appearance/housekeeping of industrial warehouse(s), and the proper disposal of waste/recyclables.

Essential Functions

Considering job knowledge, job environment, effort, manipulative skill, judgment, safety knowledge, and responsibility:

• Must be able to operate a Sweeper, Scrubber and other PIT's safely and effectively.
• Perform daily cleaning all warehouse drive aisles and areas, pedestrian walkways, and designated locations
• Pick up any debris/materials and recyclables throughout the facility(s)
• As needed operate the Scrubber feature.
• Clean the outside areas of the warehouse monthly and or as needed.
• Perform various duties as directed by the supervisor.
• Must adhere to a normal work schedule, starting and stopping times and company attendance/tardiness policy.
• Must be able to work necessary overtime

Physical Requirements

• Ability to remain seated for extended periods while operating cleaning equipment.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and perform repetitive movements throughout the shift.
• Ability to routinely lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and environmental conditions.

Training Requirements

• Must complete Lift Truck Operator training program.
• Must complete required SMS Training.

Safety And Security Requirements

• Operate with only one person on board.
• Watch for pedestrians.
• Must complete required training.
• Must adhere to all corporate and facility safety rules including use of proper PPE for specific job tasks.

Starting pay is $18.49/hr

Monday Through Friday 4:00pm-12:00am
