Job summary

Shaw Industries in Hanover, MD is seeking a Plant 3M Utility for a non-rotating 8‑hour shift (7:30 am–4:00 pm) at $20.86 per hour. You will help maintain a clean, safe warehouse environment and support supervision with daily tasks to reduce safety incidents.

The position site is in Hanover, MD, with benefits such as medical and dental coverage after 30 days, 401(k), paid vacation and paid sick leave. Candidates should be prepared for physical duties and multitasking within a busy facility.

Responsibilities

• Empty all trash cans daily and dispose of trash
• Sweep the dock daily and remove debris
• Walk aisles and bulk storage areas to remove trash and debris
• Check trash cans and empty as needed
• Keep railings and Lead Station areas clean
• Keep the sample area clean and organized
• Keep straps organized and stored
• Check and remove trash and recycling from around dock doors
• Check recycling centers in break room and empty as needed
• Check bathrooms and break room for cleanliness and stock supplies
• Clean oil spills and hazards immediately
• Place sharp objects in safety containers
• Remove broken wood, pallets, and plywood to recycling/bin
• Report unsafe storage areas to Supervisor
• Communicate incomplete tasks to the shift
• Clean the trailer yard weekly
• Empty the trash can in the parking lot
• Keep sidewalks and entrances clear of snow and debris
• Transport full dumpsters to outside staging area for pickup
• Assist with loading/unloading pallets and scrap pallets
• Backup to battery changer and follow Lockout/Tagout
• Assist with unloading inbound carpet and hard surface product
• Complete daily pre-pull work for 2nd shift
• Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned by Supervisor
