Job summary

The City of Richland is seeking a Plan Examiner to join Development Services. The position reviews building plans for compliance with the International Building Codes, working under the Building Official.

Preference may be given to ICC Commercial Plans Examiner certification, and the role requires a valid driver’s license and relevant experience. Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and several years of plans examining or related building inspection experience; Bluebeam Revu

Qualifications

Valid driver's license.
Valid International Code Council (ICC) certification as a Plans Examiner or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
High school diploma or GED, and three years' experience in plans examining, permitting, or building inspection.
Experience performing commercial plans reviews.
Valid International Code Council (ICC) certification as a Commercial Plans Examiner.
Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu.

Responsibilities

Review building and construction plans for compliance with codes.
Work under the limited supervision of the Building Official.
Participate in the application and selection process and conduct qualifications screening.
