Job summary

Bureau Veritas is seeking a meticulous Plans Examiner to review building plans for code compliance, safety, and energy efficiency, collaborating with architects, engineers, and contractors.

The role requires knowledge of IBC/IRC, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to travel for inspections. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Bluebeam is preferred; a certification or progress toward one is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Experience in plan reading, plan development, building inspection, or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of IBC, IRC, and other codes and standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication with stakeholders and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Review building plans, specifications, and permits for code compliance.
• Assess structural integrity, fire safety, accessibility, and energy efficiency.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to address deficiencies.
• Provide technical guidance on code requirements and review processes.
• Perform field inspections and document findings in reports.
