The City of New Smyrna Beach Development Services Department is seeking a Plans Examiner to review residential and commercial plans for code compliance. The role reports to the Chief Building Official and focuses on ensuring adherence to building codes and ordinances.

Qualifications

• Highschool Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in construction to include one of: building, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical; or experience in one or more of these trades.

Responsibilities

• Examine residential and commercial plans for code and ordinance compliance.
• Work under the direction of the Chief Building Official.
• Ensure plans meet applicable building codes and regulations.
