Job summary

City of Aubrey (TX) is seeking a Plans Examiner to review building plans for compliance with city ordinances, building codes, and state regulations. The role involves coordinating with engineers, architects, builders, and citizens to expedite permit approvals and provide guidance on code requirements.

Responsibilities include monitoring applications, facilitating corrections for deficiencies, and maintaining plan review records with precision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and six years of relevant experience.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Valid Texas Driver's License and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Review commercial and residential construction plans for compliance with City, State, and Federal rules and regulations for compliance with applicable Building Codes, Zoning Ordinances, Subdivision and Land Development Regulations, Planned Development Ordinances, and Development Agreements adopted by the City of Aubrey.
• Provide technical assistance and coordination with design professionals, owners, and contractors to expedite permit approval.
• Furnish information to citizens, builders, architects, and engineers regarding building code requirements.
• Monitor status of pending applications.
• Facilitate corrections when deficiencies exist and assist in determining how corrections are to be made to ensure conformance.
• Enter and maintain plan review records into computer files accurately.
