Preferred candidates hold ICC Commercial Plans Examiner certification and have experience in plan review. A valid driver’s license is required, and the position is open until filled.

The City is looking for a Plan Examiner to join our team in Development Services. If you have experience in commercial or residential building plan review and a strong working knowledge of the International Building Codes, this may be the opportunity you're looking for! Performs intermediate skilled administrative support work reviewing building and construction plans for compliance, and related work as apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Building Official ("supervisor").
Selection will be based on overall qualifications, skills testing (if applicable), and an interview process. The final candidate selected will be subject to a comprehensive background/reference check commensurate to the position.
High school diploma or GED, and three (3) years’ experience in plans examining, permitting, or building inspection, including one (1) year experience in building construction, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
