Job summary

Alamosa County's Land Use Department is seeking a Planning Tech or Planner I/II to support daily operations, assist the public, and help administer the Land Use Development Code and Comprehensive Plan.

The roles include processing land use cases, assisting with long-range planning, and providing staff reports, research, and presentations to boards. This is a full-time position with county benefits and may require evening meetings and bilingual communication when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in planning or related field.
• AICP candidate/status preferred or certification helpful.
• Knowledge of land use concepts and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide information, process applications, and perform inspections to ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Assist in analysis, drafting, refinement, and amendment of policies, land use regulations, and comprehensive plan.
• Public engagement: provide technical assistance and information on Land Use Development Code and regulations.
