HLBMA LLC is seeking a Planning Specialist I to support planning for energy and utility projects at the Savannah/Ellabell site. You will develop schedules, track maintenance and project activities, and coordinate access for contractors to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

  • 1 year of planning, operations, or related experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.

Responsibilities

  • Support short-term and long-term planning for utility and facility activities supporting manufacturing operations.
  • Develop and maintain schedules and track maintenance and project activities.
  • Collect, organize, and analyze utility, maintenance, and project data to support planning decisions.
  • Assist with budgeting, including planning, pre-approval, tracking, and invoicing reconciliation.
  • Forecast utility requirements based on production plans and future needs.
  • Monitor energy consumption using site systems and AI-based analytics tools.
  • Prepare regular reports, dashboards, and planning updates for leadership and headquarters.
  • Coordinate visitor and vehicle access for contractors and external personnel.
  • Coordinate contractor access and work activities to align with schedules.
  • Assist with coordination of planned outages, shutdowns, and construction activities.
  • Support continuous improvement of planning processes and workflows.
  • Maintain regular on-site attendance and workplace organization.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure accurate information and timely decisions.

Planning Specialist I

Summary

The Energy Engineering team provides and maintains the utility systems and infrastructure that enable safe, reliable, and efficient battery manufacturing operations, including utility system maintenance, utility construction and hook-ups, energy management, infrastructure expansion, and continuous improvement. The Planning Specialist I supports planning and coordination across these activities. This role develops and maintains schedules, tracks maintenance and project activities, coordinates contractor access and work activities, supports budget planning and expenditure processes, and prepares reports and analyses for team leadership. The position also monitors and analyzes energy and utility consumption using the site's utility management systems and AI-based analytics tools to forecast future consumption, identify inefficiencies, and support initiatives that reduce energy usage and operating costs. The Planning Specialist I works closely with engineers, maintenance teams, production, construction teams, contractors, vendors, and global headquarters. This is an entry-level position offering broad exposure to manufacturing operations, industrial utility systems, project planning, budget management, contractor coordination, and data-driven energy optimization, with development opportunity into more advanced planning responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Support short-term and long-term planning for utility and facility activities supporting manufacturing operations
  • Develop and maintain schedules and track maintenance and project activities
  • Collect, organize, and analyze utility, maintenance, and project data to support planning and decision making
  • Support planning and administration of the team's annual budget, including developing budget plans, coordinating pre-approval for planned expenditures, tracking budget utilization, and processing and reconciling invoices
  • Assist with forecasting utility requirements based on production plans, capacity changes, projects, and future business needs
  • Monitor and analyze energy and utility consumption data using the site's utility management system and AI-based analytics tools
  • Identify trends, abnormal consumption, and opportunities to improve energy and utility efficiency
  • Prepare regular reports, dashboards, presentations, meeting minutes, and planning updates in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for team leadership and headquarters
  • Maintain planning databases, spreadsheets, documentation, and tracking tools to ensure information is accurate and up to date
  • Coordinate visitor and vehicle registration for contractors, vendors, and other external personnel supporting Energy Engineering activities, ensuring required access information and documentation are completed in accordance with site requirements
  • Coordinate contractor access and work activities in support of maintenance and construction schedules
  • Assist with coordination of planned outages, shutdowns, construction activities, and other work that may affect plant operations
  • Support continuous improvement of planning processes, reporting methods, and team workflows
  • Maintain regular and reliable on-site attendance
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain; Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container)
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Essential Employee Status

This position supports essential facility and utility operations. The role may require support during planned outages, shutdowns, construction activities, off-hours, weekends, or emergency situations to maintain facility operations and production continuity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or a related field required

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in planning, operations, supply chain, business management, finance, or a related field required
  • Relevant internship, co-op, or undergraduate research experience in planning, operations, engineering, or a related field may be considered in lieu of full-time experience
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
  • Exposure to ERP systems (SAP or similar) preferred
  • Experience supporting budget tracking, invoice reconciliation, or expenditure processes preferred
  • Experience preparing reports or presentations for leadership audiences preferred
  • Demonstrated reliable work history and consistent attendance in prior employment
