Job summary

Town of San Tan Valley is seeking an entry-level planning professional to support planning projects, reviews, and permitting processes. You will assist in preparing reports, coordinating with boards, and providing customer service to residents and applicants.

Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning or related field with 2 years of planning experience; training provided. This full-time position involves field inspections, project coordination, and updating planning information to keep projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning or related field with relevant coursework.
• 2 years of planning experience or equivalent training is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews planning projects and building permits for conformance with design standards and codes.
• Provides customer service to residents and applicants regarding zoning, design, and related items.
• Leads technical review committee meetings and assists with neighborhood meetings.
• Reviews new and renewing business licenses.
• Prepares and presents planning project reports to boards, commissions, and leadership.
• Performs field inspections and project coordination tasks.
• Manages information flow and acts as project manager for planning information.
• Researches planning inquiries and handles public records requests.
• Updates planning website and related documents.
• Performs related work as assigned.
