Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States is seeking a Planning Manager to direct distribution center planning activities. You will schedule inbound receipts, outbound shipments, and replenishment, while deploying metrics to improve efficiency.

You will develop site leadership reports using Power BI/Tableau and support service level targets in line with client contracts. The role also involves team leadership, interviewing, onboarding and performance management.

Qualifications

  • 4 years of experience with complex demand planning activities.
  • Experience with industry-leading BI solutions (Power BI, Tableau, Cognos or equivalent).
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Knowledge of SQL or similar programming languages (preferred).
  • Experience in Lean principles and 3PL/warehouse environments (preferred).
  • APICS certification (preferred).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred).
  • Quality systems in AS9100/ISO environments (preferred).
  • Experience with data mining and problem solving (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Lead planning functions for the distribution center, including inbound/outbound scheduling, replenishment, slotting, capacity, prioritization and expediting.
  • Develop and execute operation-level reporting for site leadership and client.
  • Support operations to meet service levels and contractual obligations.
  • Identify growth opportunities with customers and promote enhanced services or cost savings.
  • Track and maintain planning data; deploy planning-based metrics for efficiency.
  • Support cost-saving initiatives through continuous improvement at the site.
  • Oversee direct reports, including hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Lead/direct planning-related functions of the distribution center, e.g., plan and schedule inbound receipts and outbound shipments, replenishment activities, inventory slotting, capacity analysis, order prioritization and expedite processing
  • Develop and execute operational level reporting for site level leadership team and the client
  • Support Operations teams to ensure service level standards are met; adhere to all contractual obligations and ensure client compliance
  • Identify growth opportunities with current customers by promoting enhanced services and/or cost savings to the customer, partner with site leadership in all customer visits, conference calls and problem‑solving efforts
  • Track, record and maintain planning and operations-related data; deploy planning-based metrics to ensure optimized operational efficiencies
  • Support the identification and deployment of cost‑saving initiatives through deployment of planning based continuous improvement initiatives within the site
  • Handle all direct reports, including interviewing, hiring, onboarding, setting expectations, training and development, conducting performance reviews, etc.
Requirements
  • 4 years of experience with complex demand planning activities
  • Experience utilizing and deploying solutions within industry leading business intelligence solutions (Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, Cognos, or equivalent)
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio)
  • Working knowledge of statistical methods, mathematical techniques and related analytical tools, including forecasting and projections
  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations Management or other related field (preferred)
  • Working knowledge/understanding of SQL or similar programing languages (preferred)
  • 4 years of managerial/supervisory experience (preferred)
  • APICS certification (preferred)
  • Bilingual English/Spanish (preferred)
  • Experience in Lean manufacturing principles (preferred)
  • Warehousing or Third-Party Logistics (3PL) experience (preferred)
  • Experience in quality, inventory, data mining and problem‑solving (preferred)
  • Experience in an AS9100 or ISO environment (preferred)
