Job summary

Douglas County Government in Castle Rock, Colorado, seeks a detail‑oriented planning support specialist in the Community Development Department. You will manage intake, review land use and liquor license applications, and coordinate with applicants to ensure accurate, complete submissions.

You will assist Planning, Building, and Engineering staff, support GIS needs, and help prepare public notices and staff reports while providing excellent customer service to the public and development

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; college coursework in community planning preferred.
Minimum of two years related experience.
Experience with land use or planning processes is a plus.
Bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

Process intake and preliminary review of land use and liquor license applications.
Coordinate with applicants to ensure complete submissions and track status.
Assist Planning, Building, and Engineering staff with application reviews and provide clarifications.
Support GIS needs and data collection for planning studies.
Prepare staff reports, project closeouts, and public notices.
Support boards and commissions and provide excellent customer service.
