Planning and Public Works Maintenance Supervisor

Position Summary

In this role within the Maintenance and Operations division of Planning and Public Works, you will manage your team to maintain county roads, river levees, and stormwater assets, ensuring smooth community operations. Responsibilities include road repair, drainage maintenance, vegetation management, scheduling crews and equipment, and team development through training and feedback. Your interactions with the public, municipalities, and other county divisions will ensure timely and accurate completion of maintenance work.

Core Daily Responsibilities
  • Assign, review, and approve work; prioritize activities; develop work schedules and methods.
  • Investigate grievances, recommend HR actions, conduct employee evaluations, and address misconduct.
  • Schedule maintenance and repairs for equipment and vehicles.
  • Maintain records of work, equipment, and materials; monitor project resources.
  • Ensure safety compliance, review injury reports, conduct safety meetings, and inspect work zones.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring department functions for efficiency and quality.
Qualifications
