Client Overview
Our client is a multinational consumer goods company focused on producing and distributing a diverse range of food, home, and personal care products globally. They are looking to add a Supply Planning & Operations Specialist to their team.
Salary/Hourly Rate
$40/hr - $50/hr (Based on relevant experience)
Position Overview
The Supply Planning & Operations Specialist will play a key role in strengthening the operational connection between internal cross-functional teams (Planning, Procurement, and Quality) and external Contract Manufacturers (CMs). This role supports performance improvement, supply reliability, and execution across the external manufacturing network.
Responsibilities Of The Supply Planning & Operations Specialist
- Develop a deep understanding of the company's external manufacturing network, including capabilities, capacity, run rates, and quality performance.
- Serve as a strategic link between Planning, Procurement, and CMs to enhance collaboration and operational efficiency.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with CM leadership, ensuring accountability and alignment on business objectives.
- Lead weekly reporting and performance monitoring activities, using KPIs to identify and close performance gaps.
- Conduct regular site visits to assess quality, identify risks, and support continuous improvement efforts.
- Drive supply review meetings and actively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to optimize performance.
- Support the achievement of service level and inventory targets through effective supply planning.
- Identify and lead value delivery initiatives and process improvements within the CM network.
Required Experience/Skills for the Supply Planning & Operations Specialist:
- Willingness and ability to travel within North America as required.
- 5+ years of experience in supply chain, planning, or manufacturing operations.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional relationships and external manufacturing partners.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in KPI tracking and operational performance improvement.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to hold stakeholders accountable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Supply Planning & Operations Specialist:
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is preferred.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
