Job summary

Amerco Real Estate Company is seeking a full-time Planner to join the land use and zoning team in Phoenix. You will handle land planning, entitlements, and plan preparation for a diverse property portfolio in the U.S. and Canada, reporting to the Director of Land Use and Zoning and AREC President.

This is an in-person role at Midtown Phoenix, 8 AM to 5 PM, Monday–Friday; remote work is not available. Responsibilities include preparing zoning analyses, negotiating with municipalities, processing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning or related field preferred.
• At least 4 years of experience in urban planning or related field.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Adobe Creative Suite.

Responsibilities

• Research and prepare analysis of municipal zoning codes.
• Negotiate and finalize entitlements from municipalities.
• Process applications for rezoning, tentative maps, and related approvals.
• Attend and present at hearings and meetings.
• Develop and manage relationships with municipal staff and officials.
