Cumberland County’s Planning & Inspections Department is seeking a Planner II to support thoughtful, informed growth and development throughout the County and participating municipalities.

This position provides professional planning services that help shape the future of our communities through comprehensive planning, long-range development strategies, ordinance research, and collaboration with local governments, agencies, and the public.

Qualifications

• Degree in urban or regional planning, geography, public administration, engineering or related field.
• Two years of urban/regional planning experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs professional planning projects related to comprehensive plans, detailed land use plans and long-range planning initiatives.
• Researches planning issues, analyzes data, and develops recommendations, reports, policies, and plan materials.
• Coordinates planning projects and ensures timely completion.
• Develops maps, land-use plans and visual materials using GIS and related software.
