Job summary

Yakima County is seeking a Planner I in the Public Services, Planning Division, to provide professional planning support on development projects and regulatory updates. The role includes assisting the public, coordinating with agencies, and contributing to SEPA reviews and policy analyses.

Candidates should have an Associate degree or two-year certificate and related experience; US Driver’s License is required. Bilingual Spanish and a Bachelor’s degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• US Driver’s License at time of appointment.

Responsibilities

• Provides policy information and technical assistance to the public, agencies and county staff relating to plans, policies, ordinances, standards and regulatory programs.
• Performs planning analyses for routine to moderately complex development projects and assists with SEPA reviews and notice drafting.
• Develops public education/outreach and coordinates with external partners on growth management.

Education
