Join Enterprise Physical Operations (EPO) and help shape the future of the WashU Medicine campus. Planners support the strategic planning, programming, and development of facilities projects that advance the university’s academic, research, clinical, and operational missions. Working in partnership with departmental leaders, project managers, architects, engineers, and campus stakeholders, planners develop thoughtful, data-informed solutions that optimize space utilization, improve operational efficiency, and support long-term campus development.
Work may include providing professional, technical, and analytical support for facilities, space, and campus planning initiatives; evaluating space utilization, facility needs, operational trends, and planning data; and developing practical, cost-effective recommendations for renovations, capital projects, infrastructure improvements, and campus development. Planners may collaborate with project teams and campus stakeholders to identify business and program requirements, assess planning alternatives, prepare feasibility studies and reports, develop cost estimates, and present recommendations that support informed decision-making. Responsibilities may also include maintaining planning databases, project documentation, and reporting systems to ensure accurate information and effective project oversight. Depending on the position level, responsibilities may include leading complex planning programs, managing cross-functional initiatives, mentoring team members, and contributing to capital renewal and long-range institutional planning.
