Job summary

4LEAF, Inc. is seeking motivated Plan Review Engineers to review building plans for Merced, Stanislaus, and San Joaquin Counties, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Candidates should have a civil/structural, mechanical, or electrical engineering background (BS/MS) or related field, with knowledge of materials, construction methods, and codes. Excellent communication and customer-service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil/Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or
• BS or MS in Architecture, construction management or related field or
• Equivalent construction or design experience
• Basic knowledge of building materials, construction methods and related codes.
• Blueprint reading.

Responsibilities

• Reviews plans and specifications of residential, commercial, industrial, public or other major developments to ensure compliance with building codes and ordinances.
• Advise architects, designers, contractors and developers on code and design requirements.
• Assists in building inspectors on difficult or unusual code requirements for major structures.
• Answers inquiries from the public relating to the regulations for building and housing construction, remodeling, and repair, including structural, nonstructural, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and zoning matters.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
