Job summary
Newland & Newland, LLP, an Illinois-based law firm with offices in Arlington Heights and Libertyville, is seeking a dedicated Plaintiff’s Personal Injury Attorney to join our fast-growing practice. Our main office is in Arlington Heights, with potential for other offices; hybrid work may be available after training.
The role requires a JD, Illinois license, and 2–5 years in personal injury, including discovery and court appearances.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed to practice law in Illinois in good standing.
- 2–5 years of personal injury experience from intake to settlement or litigation.
- Experience with discovery, depositions, court appearances, negotiations, and motions.
Responsibilities
- Prepare for trials, hearings, and meetings.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research to support case strategies.
- Review and summarize medical records, police reports, and relevant documents.
- Prepare pleadings, discovery requests, and motions.
- Maintain case and client records with appropriate software.
- Manage files with autonomy and coordinate with attorneys.
- Interview clients and witnesses to gather necessary information.
- Ensure compliance with laws and regulations throughout the case process.
- Collaborate with other professionals for effective communication inside the firm.
