Job summary

Casper, Meadows, Schwartz & Cook is seeking an independent Associate Attorney to handle high-stakes plaintiff-side litigation from a remote position in the United States, requiring a California bar license. The role offers significant responsibility, including working directly with partners on complex personal injury and wrongful death cases.

The ideal candidate has a JD and at least 3 years of civil litigation experience, strong writing and research skills, and the ability to manage discovery

Qualifications

• JD degree and CA bar license in good standing.
• 3+ years of civil litigation experience.
• Strong civil litigation skills and ability to work on complex, high-value cases.
• Experience handling written discovery, including drafting responses and pursuing additional discovery.
• Strong legal research, writing, and motion-drafting skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with partners on complex personal injury and wrongful death cases.
• Manage written discovery, drafting responses, deficiencies, and follow-ups.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions and other substantive documents.
• Prepare for and take depositions.
• Work with expert witnesses and contribute to case development.
• Help develop litigation strategy and prepare cases for trial.
• Possibly serve as primary handling attorney on select cases with partner support.
• Exercise independent judgment and manage assignments efficiently.
