Job summary

PTC Therapeutics is seeking a Patient Support Specialist to assist rare disease patients, focusing on PKU, through case management and coordination with Sales, Patient Engagement, and Case Manager teams. The role supports therapy initiation, adherence, and transitions across life stages.

Responsibilities include educating patients, following up on adherence barriers, and ensuring compliant, high-quality patient support using approved materials. Travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of clinical nutrition/nursing and/or patient counseling experience.
• Active Dietitian/Nursing license and/or Master's degree preferred.
• Experience in PKU or inherited metabolic disorders.
• Strong documentation and time-management skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and coaching abilities.

Responsibilities

• Educate patients and caregivers on disease state, medication safety, administration and storage.
• Coordinate therapy initiation and ongoing patient support with cross-functional teams.
• Promote adherence and assist with life-stage transitions.
• Escalate urgent concerns per program guidelines.
• Document interactions accurately in approved systems.
