Job summary

Fort Worth ISD seeks a Specialist: PreK-5 Health and Physical Education Curriculum to coordinate curriculum, instruction, assessment, wellness programming, and professional learning in alignment with FWISD pillars and WSCC framework.

This role designs HQIM-aligned curricula, supports campuses with coaching, and collaborates with district staff to enhance student health outcomes and physical literacy across elementary grades.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Health, Physical Education or a related field required.
• Masters degree in Health, Physical Education or a related field preferred.
• Valid Texas Teaching Certificate in Health and/or Physical Education preferred.
• Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience in content area required.
• Experience designing, internalizing, and/or delivering curriculum and lessons aligned to HQIM and facilitating professional learning that drives strong teacher internalization and implementation preferred.
• Experience with a diverse student population, especially in a large multicultural urban district preferred.
• Experience as an instructional coach, department head, team lead, grade level-lead, lead content teacher, or teacher leader with a track record of significantly increasing student achievement preferred.

Responsibilities

• Designs and adapts instructional planning calendars anchored in HQIM, and writes lessons for core programs, ensuring alignment to FWISD Instructional Framework and delivery.
• Identifies, evaluates, and supports the adoption and integration of effective instructional resources into the curriculum.
• Develops districtwide professional learning plans based on data trends, campus needs, and district initiatives.
• Builds capacity of campus administrators and classroom teachers with HQIM fidelity and effective teaching delivery.
• Coordinates and delivers instructional support, assessment, and professional learning for all stakeholders.
• Delivers professional learning aligned to instructional priorities and identified needs.
• Develops curriculum and supervises writing and revisions for PreK-5 Health and Physical Education.
• Supervises writing of curriculum-based assessments, lesson plans, and unit guides.
