Job summary

Lafayette Hotels is seeking an experienced and creative part-time pizza cook to join our evening Lounge service. The best candidates will be available 3pm-10pm, and will prepare pizzas in our Brick Oven, along with other light bar snacks.

We are looking for self driven candidates with strong communication skills and experience in professional kitchens. Join our family-owned team at Lafayette Hotels across Maine and New Hampshire, including near Acadia National Park and the Maine beaches.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of food safety guidelines.
• Must be able to work evenings and weekends.
• Able to work at a quick pace until job is complete.
• Provide oneself with a reliable means of transportation to and from work and the ability to be contacted by telephone.
• Ability to stand and walk for up to 8 hours.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
• Have a basic comprehension of spoken and written English.

Responsibilities

• Prepare pizzas in our Brick Oven according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation standards.
• Follow indications for food preparation and cooking times.
• Communicate with other kitchen staff to discuss order fill times and food preparation.
• Ensure food is the correct temperature when served.
• Familiarize yourself with menu items and ingredients used in creating them.
• Clean equipment, utensils, and kitchen during and/or after hours depending on operational needs.
• Adhere to all health department regulations and quality standards.
