Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a nonprofit news organization serving western Pennsylvania for over 240 years, seeks an experienced reporter to cover economic development in Pittsburgh with emphasis on downtown revitalization. Develop sources quickly, publish daily and enterprise stories, and collaborate with Investigations and Power & Politics desks to tell compelling narratives.

The role requires evening/weekend work and a commitment to ethics and public service.

Qualifications

3+ years of professional journalism in a daily newsroom.
Exceptional reporting, interviewing and writing skills.
Ability to generate original stories and exclusive reporting.
Strong news judgment and balance between daily coverage and enterprise work.
Ability to explain complex issues clearly and accurately.
Strong source-building and trust across communities and industries.
Experience using social media and digital tools to report and engage audiences.
Comfort in a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom with digital growth focus.
Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Willingness to work evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

Produce a steady stream of stories on Pittsburgh's economic revitalization beat.
Break news on the economic development beat.
Tell stories in creative formats using visuals, social media and data.
Collaborate with audience and data teams to engage readers across platforms.
Coordinate with PG editors, reporters and staff on related topics.
