Job summary

The Tree of Life is seeking an Associate Director of Development in Pittsburgh, PA to lead frontline fundraising and to cultivate relationships within the local community. Reporting to the Chief Advancement Officer, this role will manage a donor portfolio and help grow the organization’s Pittsburgh donor pipeline.

The ideal candidate is an experienced relationship builder who thrives in a mission-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 7–9 years of professional fundraising experience, including frontline responsibilities.
• Proven success in donor relationships and solicitation in nonprofit/educational contexts.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for diverse stakeholders.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of individual donors and prospects in the $1,000–$25,000 range.
• Conduct donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship meetings with a focus on long-term engagement.
• Develop personalized strategies to deepen donor involvement and philanthropic support.
• Collaborate with the Chief Advancement Officer on donor strategy, pipeline development, and moves management.
• Support identification and cultivation of new donors in the Pittsburgh community and broader regional networks.
• Attend and contribute to community events, networking opportunities, and program activities.
• Plan and execute donor cultivation events and stewardship gatherings; manage post-event follow-up.
