Job summary

Martin Marietta is seeking a Pit Loader Operator in New Bern, NC. The role focuses on safely and efficiently operating a pit loader and maintaining quality stockpiles while promoting site safety and leadership of truck drivers onsite.

Typical duties include pre/post inspections, safe operations around conveyors and crushers, and assisting in training coworkers. A High School Diploma or GED and loader experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
• Six months of experience operating and maintaining a front-end loader preferred.
• Experience with mobile equipment and construction equipment is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate a pit loader safely and efficiently according to company guidelines.
• Perform daily pre- and post-inspections of equipment and ensure proper berms and roadways are present.
• Report repairs needed to the supervisor and conduct pre-shift safety inspections.
• Maintain safe traffic flow and operate other equipment (e.g., excavators, haul trucks) as needed.
• Assist in training coworkers and perform duties as assigned by supervisor.
