Job summary

Matrix Service Co. seeks a Piping Superintendent to plan and supervise piping works for process and utility systems, including supports and fixtures, ensuring safety and schedule compliance.

You will coordinate with crafts, departments, and subcontractors, maintain safety programs, and oversee manpower planning and resource allocation on site in Washington. Strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 6+ years’ experience in a similar facility, including construction technology, methods, equipment, tools, and work procedures.
• 4-year engineering degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
• Advanced understanding of construction scheduling and cost control.
• Ability to supervise large groups.
• Demonstrated ability to apply innovative and effective management techniques to maximize performance.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; good computer skills including MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Plans and supervises work activities. Determines method of construction, safety procedures, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documents actual hours worked.
• Coordinates assigned work with different crafts, company departments and/or subcontractors.
• Maintains liaison with safety department, engineering, estimating and planning to ensure work complies with safety policies, drawings, specifications and schedules.
• Assists in resolving construction problems and safety issues, as required.
• Conducts accident investigations with safety department, as required.
• Maintains communication with the HR Department to resolve issues of requisitioning required manpower.
• Monitors craft compliance with project safety program requirements. Documents and ensures corrective measures are implemented.
• Maintains liaison with other departments (Material Control, Purchasing, Quality Control, and Engineering) to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities and project schedule.
• Conducts field safety audits, as required and maintains a complete understanding of Corporate Safety Manual and requirements.
