Job summary

Matrix Service Co in Washington seeks a skilled piping technician with 4+ years in refinery maintenance, turnaround, or construction. You will lay out, install, maintain, and repair piping systems, test high- and low-pressure lines, and fabricate components to engineering standards.

Safety training and NCCER or pipefitter testing are required. You must pass safety drills, maintain drug testing status, and complete company safety programs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of four (4) years or more in refinery maintenance/turnaround/or construction experience.
• General knowledge of basic hand tools.
• Must be able to pass the Pipefitter Skills Test at or above 70% or complete the NCCER certification for your craft.
• Complete Matrix Service Safety training, Process Safety Management training and Client / Site specific training.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active status within the approved drug testing program.

Responsibilities

• Lays out, installs, maintains, and repairs all types of piping systems for maintenance, tank and new construction.
• Tests, inspects, dismantles, repairs, replaces or installs any type of high- or low-pressure piping, tubing, fittings, fixtures and parts for installation, maintenance and repair of pipelines for air, water, steam, oils, gases, acids, caustics, etc.
• Assembles and tests a variety of piping components.
• Sets up for pipe for welded or special type joints.
• Fastens hangers and supports.
• Handles or makes provision for handling of materials, equipment and tools to and from job site.
• Makes report of work performed.
• Identify safety hazards and take corrective action.
• Perform all other job-related duties as requested by supervision.
