Job summary

Global Edge Group is seeking a Piping Field Engineer Specialist to support construction, quality inspections, and system turnover through detailed field walkdowns, verification, and documentation readiness. You will verify installed piping against design docs and identify discrepancies for timely turnover.

The role emphasizes field walkdowns, isometrics and P&ID verification, and collaborating with construction and engineering teams to ensure mechanical completion and readiness for testing.

Qualifications

• 5 to 12 years piping and/or mechanical engineering field experience.
• Experience in B31.3 Process Piping construction/installation (LNG or similar preferred).
• Strong knowledge of interpretation of P&IDs, isometrics, and plot plans.
• ASME B31.3 and applicable codes.
• Ability to perform field walkdowns and identify discrepancies.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform system & test package line walks to verify installation against isometric drawings, P&IDs, and plot plans.
• Identify and document punch items and deficiencies.
• Verify valve accessibility and operability.
• Verify proper installation of components, including valves, fittings, and pipe supports.
• Confirm piping routing, slope, and tie-ins match design requirements.
• Perform field walkdowns and discrepancy identification as core daily tasks for piping FE support roles.
• Support inspections ensuring compliance with project specifications and applicable standards/codes.
• Verify flange alignment and integrity.
• Verify bolt-up completeness.
• Verify pipe cleanliness requirements.
• Assist in nonconformance identification and reporting (NCRs).
• Assist with test package preparation and verification.
• Validate boundaries and system limits.
• Ensure all components are installed and documented.
• Ensure pressure test documentation is complete and accurate.
• Track hydrotest / pneumatic test readiness.
• Track flushing and cleaning activities.
• Provide technical support to construction teams during installation.
• Coordinate with superintendents and engineering.
• Assist in resolving field installation issues.
• Assist in resolving design discrepancies and constructability concerns.
• Generate and maintain walkdown reports.
• Generate and maintain punch lists.
• Maintain system readiness status.
• Ensure all inspection and turnover documentation is complete and accurate.
• Participate in job briefs, toolbox talks, and safety meetings.
• Adhere to project quality requirements and project safety procedures.
• Support safe execution of construction installation activities, pressure testing activities, and system turnover operations.
• Conduct line walks and update punch lists.
• Verify valve orientation, tagging, and installation details.
• Track system status from construction through testing and turnover.
• Support test package compilation and verification.
