Job summary

Nexus Engineering Group is seeking a Piping Engineer Intern/Co-op to assist in piping design, drawings, and calculations for client projects. You will collaborate with multiple engineering disciplines to deliver cohesive packages.

Interns gain hands-on experience in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, and Inventor, while learning industry codes and standards. This role offers exposure to a consulting environment and mentoring from experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Mechanical Engineering at a four-year college or university.
• Effective communication to convey ideas clearly.
• Ability to work within diverse teams from Nexus and clients.
• Proficient with MS Office (Excel and Word) and drafting software.
• AutoCAD or other drafting tools experience; Plant 3D a plus.
• Exposure to 3-D modeling programs is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Complete calculations of limited complexity with supervision.
• Create/modify equipment drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs in AutoCAD.
• Assemble equipment RFQ packages.
• Model equipment and pipe design in 3-D using AutoCAD, Plant 3D, Inventor.
• Develop and design pipe supports.
• Assist experienced Piping Engineers with tasks.
