Actalent is seeking a Piping Designer to deliver high-quality design solutions for power and energy projects. You will implement assignments from the Group Supervisor and collaborate with drafters, engineers, and support staff to meet schedules and quality standards.
You will manage construction drawings, design studies and bills of materials, supporting small to medium projects from concept through delivery, with strong CAD skills in AutoCAD, MicroStation, Revit, and AVEVA E3D.
The Piping Designer plays a key role in delivering high-quality design solutions for power and energy projects. In this role, you implement assignments delegated by the Group Supervisor, collaborate closely with drafters, designers, engineers, and support personnel, and ensure that all project objectives, schedules, and quality standards are met. You manage the completion of construction drawings, design studies, and bills of materials, while supporting the planning and execution of small to medium-sized projects from concept through delivery.
This role is primarily based in a general office environment that operates at a fast pace, with frequent collaboration across engineering and design disciplines. You will work extensively with computer-aided design tools and office productivity software. At times, you may be required to visit industrial locations such as power plants, refineries, or similar facilities where noise levels range from moderate to high. These job sites may include light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, construction materials, communication equipment and tools, and personnel engaged in standing, walking, sitting, signaling, and talking. Noise sources may include bells, whistles, and other industrial sounds. The work environment emphasizes safety, professional conduct, and effective communication while supporting complex power generation and energy projects from concept through completion.
This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
