Job summary

KBR, Inc. is seeking a Piping Design Lead in Newark, Delaware, to provide technical oversight of process and utility piping across the project lifecycle from design through startup.

The role requires extensive piping engineering experience in regulated facilities, strong knowledge of codes, and proficiency with 3D design tools. Collaboration with process/mechanical teams and CQV will be essential for reliability and startup readiness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, or 20+ years of piping engineering/design experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum 15 years of piping engineering, design and field execution on large capital projects in regulated facilities.
• Strong knowledge of piping codes, materials, fabrication and construction quality.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for process, clean utility, and facility piping systems through design, procurement, construction, and startup.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, GMP, and codes via design reviews and field support.
• Oversee piping routing, materials, stress, and interface management with equipment and utilities.
• Support startup readiness by resolving piping issues and ensuring reliability and maintainability.
