Job summary

Kestrel Engineering Group, Inc. is seeking a piping design lead to support all project phases with emphasis on detailed engineering. You will coordinate across engineering disciplines, develop layouts, and manage 3D model reviews for client projects.

The role requires heavy industrial design experience, strong communication, and the ability to work with clients from proposal through project execution. Travel to client facilities may be needed.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in related discipline preferred.
• Experience in 3D laser scanning coordination and data management is preferred.
• Significant heavy industrial design/drafting experience with equipment layout and piping design for retrofit projects.
• Must be able to develop and read P&IDs and identify items in the field; demonstrated field documentation experience.
• High proficiency in AutoCAD, Word and Excel. CADWorx 3D design; Revit and Plant 3D experience considered.
• Familiarity with NavisWorks; ability to lead client 3D model reviews.
• Strong communication and team leadership.
• Capable of working with clients from proposal development through project execution.
• Previous consulting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• With minimal supervision, assists engineers with equipment layout, mechanical and piping design assignments.
• Prepare general arrangements, mechanical and piping design drawings using 3D modeling software.
• Lead client 3D model reviews and coordinate all engineering disciplines as project 3D model manager.
• Prepare construction drawing and specification packages.
