Job summary

TC Energy is seeking an Operations Planning Engineer to ensure safe, reliable pipeline operations across Gas Control, Field Operations, Commercial Operations, Engineering, Project Management, and Customers. You will develop operational plans, evaluate capacity impacts, support real-time operations, and provide hydraulic analyses to enable informed decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
• 4+ years of relevant work experience.
• Strong communication skills, ability to communicate effectively with peer technical customer representatives to identify problems and possible solutions.
• Ability to maintain ongoing positive presence with customers and stakeholders through professional communications.
• Knowledgeable to apply formal planning techniques for major projects.
• Demonstrated ability to develop engineering standards, specifications, guidelines, policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Apply engineering and analytical expertise in assigned functional activities.
• Use pipeline computer simulation models to evaluate pipeline operations and efficiency to meet customer needs.
• Calculate capacity restrictions for maintenance and project activities and coordinate with stakeholders to minimize impact.
• Analyze daily pipeline operations using simulation tools to predict performance and compare actual vs. estimated deliveries.
• Provide engineering oversight to minimize effects of construction and testing on daily gas flow plans.
• Develop alternative operating, replacement, and expansion proposals.
• Coordinate with Facility Planning, Gas Control, Operations, and Engineering regarding growth, integrity work, and maintenance.
• Other tasks as required.
