Job summary

Zoox is seeking a Software Systems Engineer to lead the SSE pipeline and safety-critical tooling for our autonomous vehicle software stack in Foster City, CA.

You will own end-to-end CI/CD, develop instrumentation, and turn raw data into actionable dashboards while partnering with software leads to scale infrastructure and ensure high reliability across weekly, nightly, and production builds.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in computer science, electrical engineering, robotics, aerospace, or related fields and 3+ years of experience working on large code bases.
• Experience developing in Bazel/Python, setting up backend infrastructure (databases, web servers, shell scripts, etc.), and interfacing with software written in C++ and Python.
• Experienced in drafting system design diagrams and documentation for customer communication and long-term maintenance
• Comfortable to whip up quick scripts to automate tasks, such as generating metrics, establishing traceability, etc, when necessary.
• Deep experience in enterprise-scale deployment practices and issues

Responsibilities

• Be the go-to owner for the SSE pipeline ecosystem across weekly, nightly, and CI pipelines.
• Take pipelines from prototypes to fully deployed, CI-enforced systems across branches.
• Turn raw issue data into dashboards and KPIs that tell a story for leadership and engineering teams.
• Play detective when things break—root-causing cross-platform issues and building instrumentation to fix them.
• Help shape what's next for the pipeline suite—pitching in on new checker rollouts and scaling infrastructure
