Job summary

Williams Companies, Inc. is seeking an Encroachment Specialist II/III/Sr to manage land rights and encroachment activities supporting pipelines and facilities.

You will liaise with landowners, contractors, and agencies to assess crossings, secure approvals, mitigate risk, and ensure regulatory compliance. Depending on level, you may lead negotiations, guide process improvements, mentor junior staff, and serve as a subject matter expert in encroachment management.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED with oil and gas industry experience (5+ yrs for II, 8+ yrs for III, 10+ yrs for Sr).
• Preference for a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate, Law, Environmental Studies, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Communicate encroachment requirements with contractors, landowners, agencies, and internal stakeholders.
• Review encroachment requests for compliance with company standards and regulatory obligations.
• Research public records, land data, and property information supporting encroachment and land rights activities.
• Secure, manage, and document land rights, permits, and approvals for infrastructure projects.
• Coordinate with operations, legal, engineering, environmental, and other teams to resolve encroachment issues.
• Maintain records related to crossings, encroachments, and agreements.
• Prepare and assist with easements and right-of-way documentation.
• Lead or participate in stakeholder meetings and develop process improvements.
