Job summary

Primoris Pipeline is seeking a Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) to oversee welding activities on pipeline construction projects. You will verify procedures, review welder qualifications, and perform weld inspections to ensure compliance with client requirements and industry codes.

The role requires an AWS CWI certification and 3–5 years of welding inspection experience in pipeline environments. Travel to project sites and detailed documentation of QC activities are essential.

Qualifications

• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or vocational training preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of welding inspection experience in pipeline, oil & gas, or heavy industrial construction projects.
• Proficient reading of engineering drawings, isometrics, welding symbols, procedures, and specifications.
• Experience with API, ASME, and AWS codes and standards applicable to pipeline construction.

Responsibilities

• Inspect pipeline welding activities to ensure compliance with project specs and codes.
• Verify weld procedures and adherence to Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS).
• Review welder qualifications and certifications prior to production welding.
• Perform visual inspections of welds before, during, and after welding operations.
• Coordinate and review Non-Destructive Testing results (RT/UT/MT/PT/VT) as required.
• Document inspection findings and corrective actions; maintain inspection records.
