Role Description

The Coating Inspector is a full-time, on-site role based in Orange, TX. This position is responsible for inspecting and verifying coatings, paint systems, and insulation applications on aboveground storage tanks and piping syatems to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety requirements. Daily tasks include performing visual and measurable inspections, documenting findings, preparing inspection reports, and coordinating with project managers, supervisors, and craft personnel to resolve quality issues. The Coating Inspector will monitor surface preparation, environmental conditions, coating application processes, and curing times, while supporting continuous improvement in quality control practices. The role also involves promoting safe work practices and participating in pre-job meetings to review coating and insulation requirements.

Qualifications
  • Quality-focused skills in Quality Control and inspection of coatings and related applications.
  • Technical knowledge and hands-on experience with Coatings and Paint systems used on industrial tanks.
  • Familiarity with Insulation materials and installation methods in industrial environments.
  • Supervisory Skills to guide and coordinate field crews during coating and insulation activities.
  • Experience in industrial construction, tank fabrication, or related heavy industry is beneficial.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and industry standards (e.g., SSPC, NACE).
  • Strong attention to detail, recordkeeping, and report-writing skills.
  • Commitment to safety practices and adherence to company and regulatory requirements.
  • Relevant certifications in coating inspection (such as NACE or equivalent) are a must

. Minimum of NACE/AMMP level 1 coatings inspection certification required.
