Job summary

Qualifications

• Six+ years of related experience in a Mechanical trade or a U.S. Department of Labor Certificate in a Mechanical trade.
• Must complete GM hiring process with assessments, drug test, and background check.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Willing to work flexible shift hours including day, afternoon, night, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Follow established safety procedures per OSHA and company rules.
• Maintain, dismantle, repair, and replace mechanical/hydraulic components on industrial machinery.
• Layout, assemble, fabricate, maintain piping systems.
• Operate hand/power tools for cutting, threading, bending and joining pipes and fittings.
• Read blueprints for conveyors, robots, and automation systems.
• Operate mobile equipment such as forklifts and cranes.
• Rig loads and set up CNC machines to shape parts to spec.
• Plan sequences for fabricating tools or assemblies from blueprints/models.
• Verify dimensions and tolerances using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators.
