Position Overview

The Pipefitter/Welder Foreman manages the daily activities of a team of laborers, ensuring safety and quality in pipefitting and welding. Responsibilities include configuring, installing, fitting, and maintaining piping systems, and ensuring their smooth operation. The role involves cutting, assembling, installing pipes, and operating tools and machines to shape raw materials into final products.

Responsibilities and Duties
  • Plan, prepare, install, and maintain piping and plumbing systems using various materials, including pipes, gauges, filters, steam traps, and valves.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders; develop procedures based on specifications.
  • Gather equipment and materials for projects.
  • Perform welding, cutting, bending, threading, soldering, and fitting of pipes.
  • Attach pipes to walls and install coverings, following safety and environmental regulations.
  • Inspect pipes for leaks and pressure, troubleshoot issues.
  • Coordinate with managers for maintenance, repairs, and installations to minimize disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and building codes.
  • Maintain safety logs and inspection records.
  • Support site safety and promote a positive safety culture.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Basic math skills.
  • Proficiency with tools such as blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welders.
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of safety principles and procedures.
  • Effective time management and ability to work under pressure.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
