Job summary

Kohler Co. in Kohler, WI is hiring a Pipefitter focused on plumbing and piping. You will work onsite in a heavy industrial environment, following drawings and specs to install, repair and maintain piping systems and fixtures.

The role requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma, US work eligibility, and the ability to pass safety and skill evaluations. Day 1 benefits are provided, and the hourly rate is $28.66.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in the US without restriction or sponsorship.
• Excellent communication skills for manufacturing production processes.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High School diploma/GED required.
• Must hold and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to meet Kohler Company’s MVR Guidelines and maintain good standing.
• Must complete a written technical skills knowledge evaluation and receive a passing score on the STM (Standard Model Timing) assessment.
• Must provide own tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing and pipefitting tasks per customer requests, including fixture repair, pipe replacement, and associated utility piping.
• Install and maintain plumbing fixtures.
• Repair radiators, unit heaters, heat exchangers, and oil coolers.
• Install and repair downspouts and drains.
• Read drawings and install piping, fixtures, valves, gauges per specs.
• Perform welding as required (excluding pressure vessels/structural welds).
• Bore holes through walls to route pipe with drills.
• Make and install brackets and hangers for pipe installation.
• Use CMMS to create work orders, look up parts, print orders, and log time.
• Follow safety policies and perform tasks per role assessments.
• Work in heavy industrial environments with heat, cold, dust, noise, heights, and confined spaces.
• Obtain Cross Connection testing certificate.
• Active Kohler Fire Brigade participation.

Location: Onsite – Kohler, WI

Competitive Compensation: $28.66 per hour

Shift: 1st Shift, 6:30AM – 2:48PM

This position has a strong focus on plumbing-related work and is a great opportunity for individuals who are early in their skilled trades career and looking to continue building their plumbing and pipefitting skills. Candidates with foundational plumbing, piping, mechanical, or related hands‑on experience are encouraged to apply.

Crafting Excellence: Your Responsibilities

• Perform Plumbing and Pipefitting tasks including drain blocks, fixture replacement or repair, pipe replacement, pipe fitting project work to customers requests and expectations, utility pipe replacement or repair (water, compressed air, gas, ext.).

• Install and maintain plumbing fixtures.

• Repair radiators, unit heaters, heat exchangers, and oil coolers.

• Install and repair downspouts and drains.

• Work from drawings, diagrams, and specifications. Cut, thread, form and install piping, fixtures, valves, gauges, meters, etc. in accordance with requirements and standard practices.

• Perform miscellaneous welding as required. Not including pressure vessel or structural steel welding.

• Bore holes through cement, wood, sheet metal walls, floors, roofs, whatever necessary to run pipe using tools as core drill, hammer drill, etc.

• Make and install brackets and hangers as necessary to install pipe. Use such tools as hand saw, rollers, all necessary metal forming tools.

• Be capable of using Computerized Maintenance Management software to create work notifications, look‑up and order parts, print work orders, and enter time confirmations.

• Perform given tasks within skill assessments of position while exercising safety for oneself and others.

• Working conditions include heavy industrial environment, including, but not limited to exposure to heat, cold, dust, dirt, coolants, oils, noise, heights and confined spaces.

• Have or will obtain the Cross Connection testing certificate.

• Required to be an active participant on the Kohler Company Fire Brigade, responding to plant fires.
